I would always like to enhance the flavor and nutritious factor of the food. Instead of making plain oats idli , you must try to add some veggies to make it more delicious.

3 Cups of idli batter
Green Chilies -1
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1/2 teaspoon of mustard seeds
1/2 teaspoon of turmeric powder
Water – 1 Cups
Oats – 1/2 cup
Capsicum – 1/2 cup
Grated Carrot – 1/2 cup
ginger – 1/2 inch piece
Salt – According to taste
Steps to prepare the Instant Oats Idli
If you are health conscious, then you must add veggies too to the oats idli to make it more healthy. You will be surprised to see how healthy this breakfast recipe can turn into. Just by simply adding oats and some veggies. I am sure you and your family would like to eat oats idli breakfast often to have a filling meal.
Place the pan and turn on the stove
Take the frying pan and place it on the stove. Turn on the stove and keep it in medium flame.
Roast the oats in the pan with medium heat
Take half cup of oats and add it the frying pain and roast for 2 to 3 mins. You must sure you roast oats in medium heat so that oats are not burnt and roasted at right heat
Grind the oats to a coarse powder
Let the roasted oats cool for sometime on its own. After the oats are cooled down, transfer it to the mixer and grind it to a coarse powder. Transfer it to a bowl and keep it aside to be added to the idli batter.
Add oil to the pan and heat it.
Take a clean frying pan and turn on the stove with medium flame. Add one tablespoon of vegetable oil and heat it in medium flame.
Add mustard seeds, curry leaves, green chillies to the pan and saute
Once the oil is hot enough, add 1/2 teaspoon of mustard seeds. Once the mustard seeds splutters add curry leaves and also the green chillies. Curry leaves is one of the important ingredients for adding flavor. Instead of adding the curry leaves directly, cooking them in oil would give more flavor to the food. Saute them well for few seconds
Add chopped capsicum , turmeric powder and saute well
Now you must add the chopped capsicum and also 1/2 teaspoon of turmeric powder and saute well
Add the grated ginger and saute well
Add grated ginger to the vegetable in the frying fan and saute well. Ginger adds good flavor to the food and also has many health benefits to the digestive system.
Add grated carrot , salt and saute well
Finally add the grated carrot the frying pan with some salt to taste and saute well. You are making the idli super nutritious adding many healthy ingredients. Let the vegetable mixture cool for sometime and the vegetable mixture is ready to be mixed with idli batter.
Take the idli batter to the bowl
You need to take the idli batter and transfer to the bowl. Take a large bowl as you will be adding more ingredients to the batter.
Add the ground oats powder to the batter and mix well
You should now add the ground oats powder little by little to the idli batter and mix well. Make sure you mix it well such that there are no lumps in the idli batter.
Add the vegetable mixture to the batter and mix well
You must now add the vegetable mixture to the batter and mix well. You must make sure the vegetable mixture is mixed well in the batter so that there vegetable mixture evenly distributed in the batter.
Add little water to adjust the consistency of the batter
You must add some water to the batter if it is thick to adjust the consistency of the batter. You must make sure to have the idli batter with right consistency.
Take the idli cooker and add water
Place the idli cooker on the stove and add 1/2 cup of water to the idli cooker.
Grease the idli moulds
You can use ghee or any vegetable oil and apply to the moulds of the ldli cooker. This will help the idli to slid away easily from the moulds when it is cooked.
Pour the oats idli batter to the moulds and garnish with coriander leaves
Add the oats idli batter to the greased idli moulds using a ladle and top it with the coriander leaves. Coriander leaves again another ingredient which imparts a beautiful smell to the idlis,
Place the idli stand in the cooker
You must now place the idli stand in the cooker and turn on the stove. You must sure to keep the medium flame.
Let the idli cook for ten mins
Cook the idli for ten mins on the medium flame.
Check if the idli is cooked well
If you want to check the idli is cooked well. You can use a knife or fork or tooth pick and poke in the idli . If the idli is cooked well, knife or fork or the tooth pick would come out clean.
Remove the idli stand from the cooker
You must now remove the idli stand from the cooker and let is cool down by itself. After the idli is cooled down, remove the idlis and transfer it to bowl or plate.
Serve the instant oats idli

Cool the fried oats before grinding
It is very important to cool the roasted oats before you add it to the mixer.If the grinding content is hot, it can through the lid off while grinding due to the heat. So cooling down the content helps the lid to stay put
Make sure the blender cover is not loose
You must ensure the blender cover is not loose. So that you can avoid the grinding content coming out of the mixer while it is running
Roast oats in medium flame
You must roast oats in the medium flame. This way you will ensure the oats are not burnt and this can spoil the taste of the idlis
Healthy Ingredients to idli
You can add capsicum , carrot and ginger etc to make the idli even more nutritious. Instead of using plain oats idli , adding these ingredients makes it super healthy

You must make sure that there are no lumps formed so that the idli is cooked well. You must mix the idli batter well when the ground oats powder is added to the batter by whisking it well
